The Torchy’s story began back in 2006 when Michael Rypka put up his first taco truck in Austin, Texas. From free chips and homemade salsa, Rypka built his business with tacos that quickly labeled as “damn good.”
This fast food restaurant chain currently serves 50 locations and counting. They have stores in Colorado, Oklahoma, and of course Texas.
The Mexican styled décor here at Torchy’s lends to a rather casual ambiance. The setup is your typical fast food chain.
The tacos here are superb with a generous dose of spicy goodness. Pair that with a mug of beer and you’ll have a swell meal indeed.
There’s plenty on the menu besides the tacos but the ones that usually stand out are their Green Chile Queso, Baja shrimp, Democrat tacos, and the fried avocado.
Customer service is okay, but please consider the fact that the place is busy so be forgiving sometimes. Wait times are usually around 10 minutes, again due to the bulk of orders coming.
