He later opened eateries throughout Tennessee, Arkansas, and Texas. H.D. Pappas was very dedicated to quality, and it is through him that the passion of quality passed down his generation.
It all did not end with Pappas. His sons Pete and Jim entered the diner equipment and supply business. The two brothers, Pete and Jim, opened Pappas Refrigeration in 1945. The two brothers supplied beer coolers in Texas. Their venture into diner supply business was pretty much of success.
It was in 1976 that Jim’s sons, Chris, and Harris, decided to follow their great grandfather’s steps when they opened their first eatery in Houston. In 1989, the two brothers expanded their restaurant business to Austin and Dallas. By 1998, the franchise had opened other locations in San Antonio, Chicago, and Atlanta.
