History

In ‘n’ Out Burger was created by Harry and Esther Snyder, a husband and wife team from California. It was in 1948 that they decided to open their first restaurant in Baldwin Park, California which was the very first drive thru in southern California. They wanted to create a company that sold superior tasting fast food, as well as super friendly service.

The Snyder’s spent the first few years of their business venture working hard and learning from their mistakes. After all this hard work they opened their second store just three years after opening the first. During these initial years growth was slow; however the focus was on creating a superb menu thus creating an enviable reputation in the fast food industry.

The duo didn’t allow franchising of the business as, for them, quality was much more important than quantity. After Harry’s death in the 1970’s, the couple’s son Rich took over and during the following 20 years expanded the business from 18 to 83 locations. After Rich’s death in 1993, the couple’s other son Guy took over and continued the expansion from 83 to 140 locations.

Nowadays the company is still family run, owned and operated; the current President of the company is Lynsi Snyder, the founder’s only grandchild. Even though it can only be found across five lucky states, the amount of locations has grown to around 280. The legacy behind the chain is what has made it great even today; great quality food, friendly service and all at an extremely affordable price.

Review

All In ‘n’ Out Burgers are designed in their same iconic red, yellow and white. Most of the locations offer a variety of ways to enjoy your meal, either in the clean, friendly dining area where you’ll be waited upon by efficient, smiling members of staff, or there are also the options of their traditional drive thru or good old fashioned take out.

In-N-Out Burger menu is refined perfection with all the traditional fast food items you could wish for: double double burgers, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, French fries, shakes and beverages. All of their burgers are an extremely agreeable combination of perfectly seasoned patties, toasted bun, crisp and fresh onions, lettuce, tomato, plus gooey melted cheese, unless you don’t want the cheese. Each burger is also slapped with a layer of their special sauce, a house secret whose recipe hasn’t changed since 1948.

Their shakes are also homemade with 100% real dairy ice cream and their fries and hand-cut and then cooked in 100% vegetable oil. When it comes to their ‘not-so-secret’ menu, if you’re feeling extra hungry why not try their 3×3 or 4×4, it’s the same as the double double but tripled or quadrupled. They also have their animal and protein style burgers.

Despite the incredible quality of their products, In ‘n’ Out Burger also stand out for one other notable reason, they’re particularly cheaper than many other their competitors. It will cost around $2.00 for any regular burger or fries and a combo will cost in the region of $5. Next time you see an In ‘n’ Out Burger don’t be shy, stop in and regain your trust in tasty, good quality fast-food.
