Usakhelauri

This is a fruit I have only tried once. It was sweet, juicy and very flavorful. It’s not something commonly seen in the U.S., however, but it has become more prevalent in other countries outside of the U.S., such as the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.

The Usakhelauri is a medium-sized citrus fruit with an elongated shape, similar to an orange but with thinner flesh and a higher juice content. It is usually eaten fresh or used in certain types of drinks such as fortified wines like port, raisin wine and fruit brandy.

Ugni Fruit

The Ugni fruit is a seedless fruit with sweet and tart flavors. It is similar to a plum or a cherry and is known for its firm texture. The ugni is generally eaten fresh, but can also be used in other recipes such as ice cream or jams.

I ate this fruit in Ghana. It was really yummy and really good. I use it in my cooking. I do not know how many people here are familiar with it, but in Ghana it is called “akobo.”

Umbu

Umbu is the most popular African sour fruit. Umbu refers to a group of fruits which are sometimes called waragi or nagaba. The umbu fruit itself consists of a large round ball, similar to an orange. It is usually eaten just as it comes from the tree.

The umbu fruit has a dark red flesh that contains small black seeds. When you eat this fruit, it gives off a sweet, sour flavor with a taste reminiscent of lime or apricot. Umbu also makes great pickles and can be used as an excellent complement to other ingredients in desserts like cakes and pies.

Uvalino Grape

The Uvalino grape, also known as the bignay, is a white grape with a sweet-tart flavor. The skin is thin and the fruit is small; you should be able to hold around five grapes in your hand. The fruit has a slight sourness to it that makes it an excellent snack during hot weather.

It is used in jellies, jams, wines and grape syrup. The skin is also used to make a yellow dye. It is used in liqueurs and alcohols. The Uvalino grape can be eaten fresh or used in other recipes.

Uva Tosca Grape

The Uva Tosca grape has a purple skin with a yellow and red pulp. It can be eaten fresh, but is most often used for making juices and jams.

The Uva Tosca grape is shaped similar to a round cherry but larger, with jagged edges on the outside. It can be eaten fresh or added to recipes such as cakes, pies or ice cream. It is best to refrigerate the uncut grapes to avoid spoilage during transport.

Ugli Fruit

The Ugli fruit is a large round-shaped fruit that has a prickly skin. They are often found in greenhouses and other places, where they can be grown in the cold weather of winter. They are very juicy and sweet, tasting like an orange with a hint of strawberry.

Ugli fruit is available in late summer and early fall, when it tastes its best. You can eat them fresh or use them to make jams and jellies, which can also be used in beverages such as wine, beer or cordial syrup substitutes.
