History
The company was established in 1954 by Larry J. Cano. It claims to be a pioneer of the full service Mexican restaurant segment in California.
El Torito currently has about 70 locations in California, Arizona, Oregon, and overseas. It is among the several Mexican restaurant chains managed by Real Mex Restaurants.
