Ladyfinger

They can be enjoyed plain when served in a cup, or with cream and jam or ice cream as an afternoon snack.

Lamington is the Australian name for a popular Australian dessert called the koala bear. It’s a sponge cake filled with coconut, covered in chocolate and topped with desiccated coconut.They are often much sweeter than they look, as they are not overly sweetened, although you can certainly add more desiccated coconut as needed if you want it to be sweeter. It taste like a chocolaty coconut covered sponge cake, with a soft and gooey center.

Lane Cake

A popular British dessert, this cake is made from a mixture of almond cake, sponge cakes and fruity jam sandwiched between two layers of sponge cake.In the middle is a layer of jam, sandwiched between two layers of sponge stuff. Then topped with chocolate fudge and nuts. Lane Cake is best served with cream or butter.It is one of my favorite British desserts and I love the combination of sweet, savory, and fruity flavors.

Lardy cake, also known as lardy bread, is a traditional rich spiced form of bread found in several southern counties of England, especially Somerset.It is made by mixing flour, yeast and water, then adding eggs and butter. This is then kneaded into a sponge, and left to rise before being baked in the oven. It is very moist, spongy and chewy. It tastes yummy with butter smeared over it.
