The self-serve aspect of the brand is also particularly unique. Rather than wait to be served, you control what and how much you want by heading down one of their frozen yogurt bars. This includes your yogurt flavors and your toppings, then at the end you just pay by weight. History

Cherry Berry was founded by husband and wife Dallas and Robyn Jones in 2010. The pair have 5 children together. Using their children as inspiration, they wanted to create a place where you could spend time together as a family, while enjoying an indulgent, yet healthy snack. They chose to sell frozen yogurt as it satisfied both of these categories, delicious and yet a healthier alternative than its fatter cousin; ice-cream.

The philosophy behind the chain is, first and foremost, to provide a healthy, delicious snack that customers enjoy. Secondly, they wanted the brand to provide a dining experience that was fun for the whole family, something that their self-serve aspect satisfies. Finally, they wanted to create an environment for families to be able to take some time out of the busy modern day life to be just that; families. The brand was an instant success and in the first year alone they opened over 50 stores across the US.

This success has been in part due to the creation of a fantastic franchising system. This franchising system, encourages new locations to perform to the best of their ability by offering top quality training, access to fantastic products and continued assistance while the business continues to grow. By assisting in this way Dallas and Robyn have ensured that each new location remains consistent with the original stores philosophy.

Through this focus on providing a healthy product and a family friendly environment Cherry Berry have been able to corner the market for the health conscious, modern day working family. They now have over 100 stores across the US and Canada with plans to expand even further.

When you enter your nearest Cherry Berry you’ll be greeted by a cacophony of color.  Each location is decorated in a similar way, modern décor in bright colors, comfortable furniture arranged in a way that makes it easy for the entire family to enjoy. The staff all receive rigorous training to ensure they provide super friendly, professional service.

Their menu has something for everyone. First you select your flavor category, whether this be: featured, non-fat, low-fat, no sugar, dairy-free or Greek. Once you have selected your category, you then decide which flavor, or flavors you want: butter toffee popcorn, toasted coconut, amaretto, watermelon sorbet, piña colada, blackberry tart, red velvet cupcake, the list goes on and on. Then comes the toppings, everything from: fresh fruit, nuts, granola, gummy sweets, chocolate chips; there are over 50 to choose from.

There are a few items from the menu that really do stand out from the crowd. Try their salted caramel with the hot caramel topping for an absolute caramel overload. Or try their peanut butter flavor and top it off with a round of fresh strawberries and bananas, delicious and healthy.

As each order is weighed by price that makes the company tremendously affordable, particularly at around $0.45 an oz. Although, the choice is so expansive and they have so many scrumptious toppings that it can be easy to get carried away, so be aware of the scales at the end of the line. Overall, Cherry Berry ticks all of the boxes, fantastic frozen yogurt and an all-round fun family oriented experience.
