History
Showmars was founded in 1982 by George Couchell, also known as Mr. C. As a young boy, Mr. C’s family immigrated from Greece, and he grew up working in the family restaurant.
The restaurant chain has branches in over 30 locations across North and South Carolina. It’s known for being the one of the first restaurants to combine formal with fast-food dining.
Review
I can commend the cleanliness of the place, in addition to the homely decorations and pretty landscaping. There are booths to accommodate large groups of people, and there’s outdoor seating, too.
Most of the reviews would say Showmars is their go-to for healthy, delicious food, and I couldn’t agree more. Aside from great-tasting food, the portions are generous for the price.
Other items I can recommended from their menu, aside from their World’s Best Fish Fillet Sandwich, are their chicken salad pita or gyro, chicken mac & cheese, and Greek gyros.
While service would be a hit and miss sometimes, the staff are generally friendly and the wait time is quick. The staff takes action on lost orders and is generally helpful.
