History
Ruth’s Chris started as Chris Steak House in 1927. However, after having been sold multiple times, the restaurant was acquired by Ruth Fertel in 1965. Ruth eventually included her own recipes and hired an all-female staff.
Today, the restaurant has expanded to more than 100 steakhouses spread across the United States and Canada. It is the largest steakhouse company in terms of number of locations.
