History
Lion’s Choice has a long history dating back to 1950’s. Their first store was started in Ballwin, Missouri by Marv Gibbs and Clint Tobias. Their goal was to serve fresh sandwiches with quality top-round beef that are roasted slowly. The restaurant was named Lion’s Choice since it set high standards for quality and customer service.
Lion’s Choice’s first store was an Instant Success. The second store was opened in Creve Coeur, Missouri in 1969. It has never looked back since then and has become an alternative to burger chains. The chain with its famous sandwiches has currently grown to serve its customers from multiple locations serving around 60,000 pounds of beef every year.
The restaurant was recognised as the best fast food chain in 2007 and 2008 and subsequently for best Roasted Beef in 2010 and 2011. It is continuing to receive a lot of loyal customers and fans recognising their quality, nutrition and taste. It continues to get featured in Riverfront Times and has good patronage in St. Louis.
The restaurant is different from other typical fast foods as their sandwich is prepared after customers place the order with real, fresh beef that is healthy and roasted slowly to make it tasty. It is served hot by their friendly staff. The first location of the restaurant is still open at Manchester Road in Ballwin, Missouri which highlights its quality.

Lion’s Choice always uses the domestic and fresh top round beef which is thinly sliced and nutritious. Lean beef served by them is REAL and without any additional ingredients. Their menu has three different meal sizes for adults to satisfy any appetite. They have King Meal, Large Meal and original meal which includes Sandwiches, Fries, and a large drink.
Their crispy carrot veggie sticks are delicious. The cream of broccoli soup or seasonal soups along with ice cream and desserts make it a complete restaurant to satisfy any one’s taste buds. These are just a few recommended items. There are much more choice and variety in their menu including healthy kids meal.
The prices are reasonably priced and range between $6 to $10 for meals. You can get free delivery on all orders. Lions Choice also has gift cards which you can use to surprise your friends and family on special occasions. Their place is designed to provide a pleasant experience without noise and clutter. The ambience is welcoming and comfortable.
The staff is friendly and efficient. They serve all the orders quickly, and their entire place and employees are hygienic. The wait times vary during peak times despite their 20 plus locations.
