History
This restaurant chain started in San Jose, California in 1977. It was founded by Nolan Bushnell, with the idea of combining indoor arcade, family entertainment center and fastfood-style dining.
By 2017, the chain is operating in more than 600 locations all over the globe. It is family-oriented and also environmentally-aware, which gained them an Environmental Sustainability Award in 2015.
Review
The place is noisy. It can be loud, with children running and having fun. The restaurant has a play area and arcade games. Some locations remodeled into more muted ambiance.
Food is typical fastfood menu. In recent years, the menu has expanded to include gluten-free options. They also now offer sheet cakes, cotton candy, and personal-size cheese pizzas.
Pizza is the most commonly ordered in the menu. Other favorites include the chicken wings and cinnamon dessert pizza.
The staff are unbelievably energetic and friendly in the midst of kids’ noise and chaos. There’s plenty of seating, big enough for birthday parties and can still accommodate walk-in diners.
