History
Charlie Doe opened the first 99 Restaurant in 1952 at 99 State St in Boston, and its headquarters are now located in Woburn, Massachusetts.
The restaurant currently has a total of 103 locations and still living up to its reputation as one of the pioneers when it comes to the casual dining concept.
Review
One of the first things I’ve noticed was the homey feel of the place. There’s a comfortable dining area for families, and there’s also a pub-like bar for drinks.
The menu was varied and the food portion was well worth the price. The food was tasty and there’s complimentary popcorn you can munch on while waiting for your order.
The lobster rolls were great, and so are the desserts that came in goblets. I also tried the Buffalo wings, which I’ll definitely recommend to anyone.
The restaurant was quite full during dinner and the wait time was reasonable; you could be seated within 5 to 10 minutes. The servers were definitely welcoming and attentive.
