History

Two entrepreneurs Bill Darden and Charley Woodsby founded Red Lobster with its first restaurant in Lakeland, Florida on March 22, 1968. Later in 1970, General Mills acquired the company from the duos. The eatery’s original billing was under “Harbor for Seafood Lovers.” The company’s expansion was witnessed with several locations being opened across the southeast United States.

Bill Darden aged 75 years passed away on March 29, 1994 due to prolonged illness and since then the chain became and remains a part of the Golden Gate Capital. Red Lobster offers everything from part portions to full meals including seaside starters; appetizers; soups; salads; combination dishes with sides, fish; lunch meals; lighthouse specials and desserts. The appetizers and seaside starters cost around $9.99, while the salads and soups are priced at around $6.79. You can add up a side dish for $3.99 additional.

The classic combinations of shrimps are priced for around 19.99 and for fish it would cost around $15.49. The lunch specials cost approximately $7.99 and a customized lunch would cost around $10.49. Adding a salad would just be $2.49 additional with the lunch. Selection of chicken, steaks or lobster dishes is priced between $12.99 and $33.49. The desserts are priced for $6.49 approximately.
