History
It was in 2007 when Georgetown University business school graduates Jonathan Neman, Nathaniel Ru, and Nicolas Jammet founded the restaurant. They raised their capital with the help of several investors which included Revolution Growth, Latino Economic Development Center, and several individual investors.
As of 2018, Sweetgreen has over 75 locations across the United States. In 2017, they were awarded by Fast Company as one of the World’s Most Innovative Companies.
Review
Sweetgreen perfectly combines natural elements with industrial design to create a modern look. There are green plants everywhere which form part of their interior decor. This, along with the fresh produce they have on display, truly exhibits their promotion of sustainability and green living.
They offer nothing but fresh food. According to the owners, they are emphasizing the fact that food undeniably tastes better when fresh produce or food products are used.
Sweetgreen has a Seasonal Menu which include Watermelon Gazpacho, Spicy Crab + Watermelon, and Peach + Burrata, among others. Under the Warm Bowls Menu, the Fish Taco, Chicken Pesto Parm, and Shroomami are among the highly recommended ones. Customers particularly love the restaurant’s “Make Your Own Salad” option.
Their servers are all highly trained. Most of their customers are college students, post-graduate students, employees, and executives. That’s why the owners have made it a point to fully invest in their staff members.
