Who doesn’t love pizza? Not very many people. In fact it would be a safe assertion to say that most people love Papa John’s pizza as it is the third largest pizza take-out and delivery restaurant.  They have restaurant locations on almost every continent with most of them here in the United States.

From starting in a back room of his father’s business, to having built his company to more than 4000 locations, John Schnatter worked hard to ensure his company carried his personal ethos and slogan for pizza: “Better Ingredients. Better Pizza. Papa Johns.” He believed that the ingredients were what made the pizza, whether it be good pizza or bad pizza. Today Papa John’s has done well not only to excel in quality pizza but also to excel in customer service.

History

To save his father’s business in 1984, John sold his prized possession, a 1972 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. He used part of the money to buy what he needed to start a delivery pizza business and then set to work creating his station in the back of his father’s salvaged business. From that little closet, a legacy was born.

This once small business began in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and since then has set up their headquarters in Jeffersontown, Kentucky. Total, there are now more than 4,700 locations worldwide, with about 3,500 of them in America. But no matter how many locations popped up, they all started when John first made the decision to create quality pizza at his very first location.

Papa John’s grew rapidly in the 90’s. It took 7 years to grow to 100 stores by 1991, but by 1994 they had 500 and 1999 they expanded to 2000 stores! Thirteen years later, they would reach 4000 stores, with their 4000^th store opening in New Glyde Park, New York 2012. To share their excitement about the success, they gave away 4000 free pizza to New Yorkers.

In addition to becoming the official sponsor for the NFL, Papa John’s also made it into the 2006 Guinness Book of World Records for holding the number one position customer satisfaction. Clearly pizza is not the only facet of the business they take pride in giving top quality to.

Review

In 2001, Papa John’s launched their first online ordering system, a fast growing concept amongst fast food restaurants. This helped to better ensure their success and positive customer service reviews. With clean restaurants, and helpful employees, Papa John’s is the place to go for quality pizza.

Their menu prices range from 4$-38$ which include anything from grilled chicken pizza to sides, soft drink and desserts. However, their most expensive item is not on the pizza list, but the “Sides” list which ranges from 5$-38$. Their pizza, including Papa John’s Original Thin crust, range from 9$-19$, their drinks are under 3$ and delicious dessert that include the giant cookie-brownie, a.k.a the “Brookie Dessert,” can be enjoyed for 4$-7$.
