HISTORY

Oberweis Dairy began as a milk delivery service in 1915. The founder, Peter Oberweis owned a farm and found that he had been producing more than enough milk for himself. His solution was to create a daily home delivery service. He eventually merged and took over another dairy company, renaming it and expanding his own services.

Since then the family has remained committed to providing premium quality, healthy, and great tasting milk. The company continues to be family run and operated. The family is personally involved in all productions of milk and other dairy products because they believe that is the only way to ensure the quality they strive for.

Over the years, the company expanded to not only provide quality milk in a classic and old fashioned glass bottle, but also to make their famous super premium ice creams. Shops around their hometown of Illinois were opened for people to buy their products and then eventually expanded into other parts of the country. They still offer the home delivery services Peter began.

Although the company started with milk, their product line has grown into such a variety that it is hard to keep up with all the new flavors. The service at their restaurants is quick and the staff is always friendly and willing to help. The staff helps to make the atmosphere one that makes you feel at home. It’s very family oriented.

The variety in menu items makes it hard to pick just one item to buy but it’s definitely great to have that many choices. A definite must try from their menu would be their fudge brownie sundae and any of their shakes. Their items are priced well and it takes less than 5 minutes to get what you ordered. Knowing that every ingredient is made fresh makes this restaurant one that will make you want to come back time and time again.

The staff is always very conscious of their personal hygiene and making sure that there is no cross contamination. The company is mainly located in the mid-northern states but is able to deliver anywhere. There is never much of a wait as each customer is taken care of quickly and politely.
