History
Movie Tavern was founded in 2001. It was acquired by VSS-Southern Theatres, LLC in 2013. Southern is a portfolio company of a private equity firm called Veronis Suhler Stevenson (VSS).
There are currently more than 20 MT locations in 10 states: Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, North Carolina, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia.
Review
For many people, the best feature of the dinner theatre (aside from the food and the movie, of course) are the leather reclining seats, which are extremely comfortable.
The place serves surprisingly delicious meals. The menu features a wide selection of food and drinks, beyond the typical coke and popcorn served in regular theatres.
Some of the favorites include nacho deluxe, stake & shrimp, egg rolls, and grilled salmon. You can pair these with beer, margarita, or a glass of wine.
The staff always wear big smiles and are accommodating and helpful. They are responsive to the “blue light” which the guests turn on when they need assistance during the movie.
