History
Businessman Craig Nickoloff founded the restaurant in California in 1977. When it was wholly acquired by Landry’s Restaurant in 2010, the headquarters was relocated to Houston.
It has over forty locations as of 2018 which are all located in the United States. The Parents Magazine once recognized Claim Jumper as one of the Best Family Restaurants in the U.S.
Review
If you are looking for a place that has a warm and comfortable ambience, then Claim Jumper is the place for you. I notably love their stylish ceiling fans that double as an artwork. All the other furniture is either made of tin, natural rock, or logs, among others. I must say that the exterior and interior designs are both impressive.
Standard American meals are served here but they use their own recipes, making their delectable food offerings distinct from the rest.
I particularly recommend you to visit Claim Jumper on a Sunday and try their Brunch Buffet. That way, you can have the opportunity to try all the types of food they serve. Their Widow Maker Burger, Fish Tacos, Lemon Pepper Zucchini, and Chicken Pot Pie are my personal favorites, and I want you to try them too!
The place is usually crowded but waiting time is tolerable except on Sundays. I suggest calling the establishment well ahead of time to make a reservation.
