History

The chain was founded by Steve Ellis in 1993, with his first 16 restaurants being opened in Colorado. As a food fanatic and a classically trained chef, Ellis wanted to create a brand that would provide fantastic quality, healthy Mexican fast-food.  The focus was to provide naturally grown produce and naturally reared meat. This is a principle that is implemented at every single restaurant.

These focuses ensured that Chipotle quickly became a national favorite. Throughout the years and through the strong involvement of various inspired chefs, they have won numerous awards for the taste and quality of their food. Their focused menu ensures that each and every item has been fine-tuned to perfection.

After their first 20 years in business, they had accumulated a massive fan following and an enormous 1,900 restaurants across the globe. It was at the start of 2013 that the chain began branching into the catering industry. The first official Chipotle location to start offering this service was their Denver location.

Since this time this aspect of the brand has been hugely popular. Chipotle Catering have thought of the whole shebang and their packages include everything: the food, the utensils and the serving and heating equipment. They have been able to price their packages at very affordable prices, all while remaining totally focused on providing the same high-quality food that you’ll find in all of their restaurants.
