About
The first Peter Piper Pizza location opened in the 28th of November 1973 in Glendale, Arizona. Its founder, Anthony Cavolo, was a Brooklyn native who personally appeared in many of the company’s early television commercials.
In 1980, the company would expand outward from Glendale, first entering the Tucson and Phoenix markets and pushing south to the border in 1991. The company now has 139 locations across the U.S. and Mexico.
Review
Locations of this chain of family restaurants are often divided between two sections—a family dining area and an arcade for younger patrons. The restaurants are designed to accommodate parties, so expect to see a few longer tables.
The pizzas are definitely Peter Piper’s strong suit. Its standard handcrafted crusts are a popular favorite among diners young and old alike.
Besides the pizza, you are also treated to an array of other excellent dishes. The pasta dishes are a perennial favorite, especially among buffet diners. Their wings are also well-received, though they might come off as smaller than you’d usually come to expect.
The service staff are generally reported to be accommodating and friendly. Open kitchen layouts allow you to see the staff working on orders. Some locations do not have a wide-enough array of games in their arcade.
