December 1978 is when the first Mimi’s Cafe opened its doors in Anaheim, California. This grand opening was manufactured by Arthur and Thomas Simms, Paul Kurz, and Brian Taylor. Arthur Simms was inspired by the beauty of France and local cuisine as well as a woman named Mimi that he met on his travels.
Acquired by Bob Evans Farms, Inc. in 2004 and finally Le Duff America in 2014, the restaurant has continued its focus on delivering French-inspired cuisine in an authentic setting. The bistro-type cafe boasts quality values such as passion, pride and possibility and strives to include these values in the food and atmosphere at each location.
Family values are important at Mimi’s Cafe, and Le Duff has not failed to continue this legacy since acquiring the small chain. Offering full breakfast, lunch, dinner and kid menus, one need not to worry about leaving hungry. Hours of operation are generally 7am-9pm, staying open one hour later on Friday and Saturday nights.
The chain is noted for its quality homemade sauces and baked goods. The muffins are by the most raved-about item on the menu of delectable bakery items. Giant waffles, authentic maple syrup, homemade quiches, and Rueben sandwiches are also among the crowd favorites.
