History
Dick’s Last Resort tells the story of Dick, and his humorous journey into the restaurant industry. Represented on the website as a puppet-looking hillbilly, Dick, began his adventure in 1985.
There are several locations of Dick’s Last Resort, mostly on the east coast. Each restaurant has its own menu, although they seem to be the same throughout the chain. Hours vary, but most restaurants are open until at least 11pm.
Review
Dick’s Last Resort has a “hillbilly” atmosphere. From it’s less than perfect grammar on the menu, to its colorful language on the website. This restaurant appeals to people who like to drink and have a good time.
All locations are open seven days a week and serve a full menu all week. There are several options to chose from, however it has been noted that there is not technically a kid’s menu available.
A section in the menu called “Dick’s Picks” suggest that the Shrimp-a-palooza, which features shrimp cooked two different ways and a squash medley, is one of the restaurant’s most popular menu items. There is also the seafood platter which boasts scallops, beer battered cod and fries.
The down to earth, redneck vibe this restaurant gives off is what draws its customers in. Known for friendly service, excellent food and great entertainment, Dick’s Last Resort is certainly not a last resort for dinner options.
