History
Travis Dickey opened the first location of Dickey’s BBQ Pit in 1941 at Dallas, Texas. It was inspired by the founder’s love for authentic slow-smoked barbecue.
It has close to 600 locations in the US. Each location is involved in crime reduction initiatives in their respective communities through the chain restaurant’s Barbecue Boots & Badges Foundation.
Review
The ambience has what I would expect from a fast casual restaurant: hard seating surfaces, a line for your order, and food brought to your table.
The food is great for its price and enough to satisfy your craving for quick BBQ. The meats are tender and juicy as long as you get their best sellers.
I would recommend their Beef Brisket Classic Sandwich and either the ribs or brisket for your choice of meat. And, you would love their barbecue beans and baked potato salad.
You get your food fast but the lines can be long at certain times. Of course, you can expect the staff to be hospitable and friendly.
