Chuy’s is a restaurant which started in Texas back in 1982, by its founders John Zapp and Mike Young. Chuy’s restaurant has been in business to date. Their menu is commonly known as Tex-Mex which is due to the flavors and recipes they use. Chuy’s is a restaurant that focuses on providing original homemade dishes mostly from Mexico.
As the name suggests, (Tex-Mex) their ingredients come from Mexico, in towns like Rio Grande, deep South Texas, Austin and beyond. Chuy’s main goal is to provide quality and fresh food. This is why production of their products is done by experts and even ingredients used are always fresh as they come in every morning and are never frozen.

History
Chuy’s has come a long way, from 1982. As mentioned earlier, Chuy’s started in Texas. Mike and John teamed up with Jose Cuervo who became their decorator. Creativity was of great significance due to short amount of funds. Also they wanted to come up with a brand that stood out and was recognizable from anywhere.
The inadequacy of funds was not a setback, on the contrary, it was a great opportunity to come up with a unique and interesting brand. This is why they came up with the idea of wooden swimming fish from the ceilings. Not to mention the Elvis shrine and hubcaps hanging above your booth.
This formed unique identifiers of Chuy’s which is why they say If you ‘ve seen one Chuy’s, you ‘ve seen one Chuy’s.By the year 2000, Chuy’s had fifteen restaurants in Texas. Mike and John loving what they were doing in Texas alone, found it right to spread the love even further. In this spirit, by November 2009 Chuy’s was in Nashville, TN suburb of Franklin.
Since then Chuy’s has been spreading its Tex-Mex with the core objective of sharing the delicious and fresh food that come with the brand. Also Chuy’s restaurant has embraced franchise and plays a major role in spreading the product and also the brand. They take pride in ensuring the product is the same everywhere, this is why training and orientation is provided for all who wish to join them as a franchise.

Chuy’s has a variety of food and drinks when it comes to its menu. Its appetizers include Guacamole, Panchos, quesadillas, Queso Compuesto, Deluxe Quesadillas just to mention a few. Each of the items is unique in itself, with ingredients such as Ranchero sauce, melted cheese, seasoned ground sirloin, green chilies and onions making them of high quality and irresistibly delicious.
There are also a variety of salads in Tex-Mex which includes Grilled Chicken Salad, Mexico-Cobb Salad, Large Dinner Salad, Tortilla Soup and Taco Salad. Homemade sauces form another major part of Chuy’s ranging from Hatch Green Chile Sauce to mild Tomatillo sauce. At the restaurant they are made from scratch and in small batches to ensure fresh sauces are available.
Another attribute of Chuy’s is that their willingness to give back to the community. Chuy’s has raised over $175,000 for local charity partners since 2010. It also supports upcoming franchises to develop their product so that Chuy’s experience to be the same everywhere and hence maintains the reputation they already have.
Chuy’s restaurant also had another category added to its menu which is specaialties. Here, you are served with your choice of green chile rice and refried or Charro Beans, or Mexican ice. Other dishes include Chuymanga, Chicken Flautas and Elvis Green Chile Fried Chicken. Lastly, Chuy’s restaurant open from 11 a.m to 10 p.m from Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m to 11 p.m on Fridays till Saturday
